Special format

Special data can be added to the text to direct TeXT Handler to specific actions. These extra data, once parsed by TeXT Handler, are no longer visible, ( except §). Think of it as manual filtering.

A star * before a word signals this word will not be selected nor displayed, if custom filtering ( star-prefixed ) mode is selected. See example.

TeXT Handler has a design tool ( in Files menu ) that can assist users in designing a custom format. It allows the text to be saved in this special format.

Some text sequences can be protected from filtering. Curly braces { } have this function. See example.

bullet.gif (929 octets)   The § ( paragraph ) symbol is to be understood as the void symbol. If inserted in the text it can be used as the Ø symbol in gap exercises. Unlike other special symbols, it is displayed and is not different from any other grammatical item.
