This phase can be programmed

with no time constraint ( watch ) : the learner can see the entire text and moves to the next stage only when he is ready.

time-constrained ( skim ) : the learner can see a n-word window, that appear and disappear on the screen.

non linear ( random skim ) : words pop up in a random order.

The latter capability may be useful in giving a loose set of lexical items before an audio recognition task for instance.
